Our Mommy/Daughter Disney World Weekend wasn’t even half over and already we had so much fun (you can read about our morning at the Magic Kingdom here.)
Late afternoon we headed over to Tomorrowland and picked up a FastPass+ to ride the Tomorrowland Speedway later. Then we took a ride on the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover, which takes you on a tour THROUGH the Tomorrowland attractions, giving you a sneak peak! We exited and crossed the path to Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin.
This is a popular ride and we did have to wait about 30 minutes (waits can reach over an hour so this wasn’t too bad) – but we had so much fun on it, it was worth it. This is an interactive ride where you ride in a car and shoot a laser gun to hit targets (and earn points) in an attempt to defeat Buzz’s sworn enemy, Zurg. There are two laser guns in each car, so you can have some healthy competition with your car mate! Finally it was time to use our FastPass+, so we quickly walked through the FastPass+ entrance of the Tomorrowland Speedway and got into our car. My daughter LOVES this ride and I LOVE riding it with her. The Speedway is a racetrack with cars on a rail so that everyone stays in their lane. Owlette isn’t tall enough to reach the gas pedal, so that’s my job. Her job is to steer the car…and by “steer the car” I mean she constantly loses control of it so that we crash against the underneath rail every 10 seconds. I just laugh my head off as she laughs and yells “What’s wrong with this car?!”
Next we crossed Main Street and made a pit stop in Frontierland to share a popcorn snack while picking up another FastPass+ for later and then catching the end of the Hoedown Happening. A few times a day some Frontierland characters (like the Country Bears and Br’er Rabbit to name some) come out to do some dancing with the crowd. We joined in some square dancing that resembled the Electric Slide!
We entered Adventureland and after a half hour wait (the estimated wait time was NOT accurate on the My Disney Experience App) we set sail and saw the pirates pillage and plunder their way through the Pirates of the Caribbean ride. Then it was time to use our Fastpass+ for The Jungle Cruise. This cruise takes you through the “jungle” where you see robotic animals come to life while the skipper of your boat narrates in a very humorous way. Our skipper, Elyssa, this trip was hands down the best skipper I’ve ever encountered, she had me laughing the whole time – the jokes usually fly over the younger children’s heads.Next we took a quick flight on the Magic Carpets of Aladdin and then picked up a Fastpass+ for The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh for after dinner.
MMMM Dinner! We had reservations at Liberty Tree Tavern, which we eat at almost EVERY trip. You are served a feast that feels like Thanksgiving and then some – we just love it.
If you’ve been following Sprinkling Pixie Dust this past week, you know this was a very busy day for us, but we weren’t ready to quit yet, even after a relaxing dinner and full bellies. We headed over to Dumbo the Flying Elephant and soared above the park – catching every site in its now illuminated state – and then used our FastPass+ to take a trip in our own honey pot through the Hundred Acre Wood.
It was getting late and Owlette was starting to get tired. We decided to head toward the exit and watch Celebrate the Magic (a beautiful show projected on the castle) but miss the Wishes fireworks show (we had fireworks in our schedule for the next day).
Disney didn’t let us down though! We boarded our bus back to the hotel and while we were sitting in the bus station, Wishes began and we were able to see it all from the comfort of our bus seats!…have I mentioned I LOVE DISNEY?!?!
