My alarm going off at 6:30am used to be something I reserved for FastPass+ selection day, but now that my older kids have started their first year of school, I guess this will become the new norm! I’m adjusting sloooooooowly…
I am excited for this new school year though! Seeing my kids learn, make new friends and become more independent is very bittersweet. I also love that now I get to spend some one-on-one time with my youngest child. I’ve never had “just one” child before, with my older children being twins, so this school year is a whole new world for me (yes please feel free to start singing that, wherever you may be).
So since school is back in session, I thought I’d ask you – my wonderful readers – what you’d like to read more about! Let me know what you’d like to know more about and I will do my best to report back! Make your requests below in the comments or on my Facebook page (click here)!
Here’s some more news that’s come across my desk that I wanted to share!
The Wonder – part of the Disney Cruise Line – will be getting tons of improvements this Fall (read here) – plus a new Frozen show to enjoy while on board (read here)!
So this video is awesome…but it leaves me desperately wanting to do this myself!
I originally found out about this video (here). If you can’t manage to pull together something as awesome as this on your own – you can take part in a (costly but cool) Signature Photography Experience at Disneyland (read here).
If you are planning a trip in 2017, be sure to read this great post that explains the 2017 Dining Plan offerings – it answers tons of the questions I often hear from people (read here).
If this summer heat is getting to be too much for you (like it is for me) – read about this new addition heading to one of the Walt Disney World Resort’s Water Parks! (read here)
And lastly – I thought I’d leave you with a story of good will the NYPD did…they sprinkled pixie dust (read here)!
This has been such a sad week for Orlando and Disney World. I was there for a short trip this weekend and felt so helpless, knowing such tragedy was so close to me, and not knowing how to help. One way to help now is by supporting Orlando through the One Orlando Fund (read here).
I have had a few things come across my inbox since last time, that I thought I’d share.
Tonight at 8pm on the Disney Channel, Disney Jr & Disney XD they will be showing the “Grand Opening Celebration of Shanghai Disney Resort”. I already have my DVR set – but if you don’t – it will also be aired tomorrow, June 17, 2016 at 10pm on the Freeform channel (formerly ABC Family). Disney Parks Blog talks about it here.
While you’re waiting to watch the show tonight, you can take a look at these pictures posted by Travel & Leisure of never before seen pictures from Shanghai Disney (click here).
I was fortunate to have the chance to see Hamilton on Broadway this past December and it truly is as amazing as you’ve heard (and this is coming from someone with a very critical musical theater eye – it takes A LOT to impress me). Well, Disney’s upcoming film “Moana” will have some of Hamilton’s talent! Lin-Manuel Miranda is composing music for the film and Phillipa Soo has just been cast. “Moana” is set to open in November this year. You can read more about this here.
I’m still waiting to plan my trip across the country to visit Disneyland and Disney’s California Adventure…for now I will have to live through articles like this – the new Frozen show looks AMAZING! You can read about it here. The special effects sound incredible (think Aurora Borealis curtains and seemless Let it Go dress transformation).
And lastly – here’s an auction I wish I had won the lottery to be able to buy something from. Read here about the massive Disney Auction!
I’ll be sure to keep sorting through the Disney news to bring you the latest from My Disney Desktop!
Owlette and I spent the third day of our Mommy/Daughter weekend at Disney’s Hollywood Studios! (You can read about the start of our long weekend trip here.) We woke up extra early to have breakfast at the hotel because Hollywood Studios had Extra Magic Hours that morning. Extra Magic Hours are a benefit for Disney hotel guests. It allows hotel guests with park tickets to either enter a park an hour earlier than it regularly opens or stay later in the evening on certain days of the week (you can check Disney.com for park hours and Extra Magic Hours).
We took the Disney bus transportation to the park and arrived at about 7:45am. When the Studios opened we walked directly to Pixar Place to ride Toy Story Mania. There wasn’t a line, but we still had to walk through the expansive queue, and saw all the life-sized toys.
We picked up some 3D glasses and got on this very fun 4D interactive ride! Toy Story Mania let’s you play carnival games using a spring action shooter that you aim at Continue Reading
